A. Always do a visual inspection.
B. There is a service meter on the front panel to keep track of the service time which will help determine the last time the unit was serviced. This will help establish a preventative maintenance program.
C. Each unit should be serviced after being in use for 40 hours maximum or less under severe circumstances.
D. There are three specific places in the unit to check:
- Fitting and hose from output of mixing chamber.
- Hose going into the main pinch valve assembly.
- Hose going out of the main pinch valve assembly.
E. In these three places, cut the hose approximately 1″ from the fitting to prevent possible leaks. Leaks most likely occur at 1″ from fitting.
F. It is highly recommended that you replace the pinch valve tubes after a maximum 40 hours of use.
G. When the pinch valve tube has been replaced, the input and output nipple assemblies can be interchanged to extend the life of the fittings (approximately another 40 hours).
H. If you experience a problem with the powder flow into the lower mixing chamber, remove the orifice plate to clean the holes and replace. Clean the interior of mixing chamber with low air pressure.
I. Check for proper installation of the leak detector kit to minimize wearing of other components within the abrasive pathway.
J. Only use CRYSTAL MARK, INC. approved abrasive powders. SWAM-BLAST® powders are free from moisture and foreign particle contamination.
K. Verify that the input air being supplied into the unit is free from moisture, oil, and dirt. NOTE: Compressed air lines are often contaminated with moisture, oil, and dirt that must be filtered.
L. Check for any electrical problems.
M. Upon completion of the above steps, the LV-1 and XV-1 units are ready to go back into operation.
